The Royal Civil Service Commission is pleased to announce the Result of BCSE 2017: Main Examination

Only the candidates who have obtained 50% and above in the Main Examination and meet the prospect of being selected for the vacancies already announced for the respective examination categories are required to report in person for Selection and Placement as detailed below:

  1. Technical Category as follows:
    • Bio-Science Group including Veterinary Science - December 18, 2017 @ 9.00 AM
    • Medical Group including Traditional Medicine - December 18, 2017 @ 9.00 AM
    • Engineering Group - December 18, 2017 @ 11.30 AM
    • IT & Statistics Group - December 18, 2017 @ 11.30 AM
  2. PGDPA Candidates - December 19, 2017 @ 9.00 AM
  3. PGDFM Candidates - December 19, 2017 @ 9.00 AM
  4. Technical – Law Graduates - December 19, 2017 @ 9.00 AM
  5. Dzongkha candidates – December 19, 2017 @ 11.00 AM
  6. PGDE candidates – December 19, 2017 @ 11.00 AM

The Selection and Placement shall be carried out based on the following:

  1. Merit ranking of the M.E. results for the respective examination category; and
  2. Availability of vacancy.

Further, the vacancies under PGDE (school teaching) not filled from the PGDE category shall be offered to the PGDPA and PGDFM categories provided they meet the criteria, in order of merit. Therefore, graduates who have appeared the BCSE under PGDPA and PGDFM categories who have the prospect of being selected for PGDE are required to bring the original academic transcripts for validation.

Drug Test & Medical Fitness Certificate:

As announced earlier, the BCSE selected candidates are required to undergo mandatory pre-employment drug test for recruitment into the Civil Service. The drug test is scheduled from 20th – 25th December, 2017 at Lungtenzampa Middle Secondary School. The detailed schedule will be announced during selection and placement on 18th & 19th, December 2017.

The candidates are also required to bring along original ‘Medical Fitness Certificate’ issued by a competent medical doctor, on the day of drug test.


Candidates have opportunity to appeal to the RCSC for recounting of the M.E. Result from December 06 – 12, 2017 on payment of Nu. 300/- per paper. The appeal outcome shall be declared on December 15, 2017 on RCSC website.


  1. Candidates who did not submit the required documents within the given deadline have been disqualified.
  2. Candidates who do not have the prospect of being selected are not required to report.
